Secret installations, operated by CIA and a civilian contractor (Lockheed), were located in Laos. At that time, Laos was a "neutral" country. Active duty personnel were even discharged from the Air Force and sent to Laos as civilians. This allowed our government to deny military involvement. One site was overrun by Communist forces on March 11, 1968. All the "former" military members were killed. |
