Post Kilo 11

Sentry dog teams performed an early warning and detection mission. The K-9 posts were located in front of the main defensive positions, usually machine gun bunkers. The teams were usually isolated. But, the handler was never alone. The handler shared everything with his K-9 partner. The dog team shared water, C –Rations, a bunker, and even a poncho during monsoon season. The handler had someone to talk to and the dog received his pat on the head. The dog supplied the superior senses to warn if the enemy approached, the handler would relay the warning using his radio.
