Sgt Mills  was  one of  five  sergeants assigned to  a key bunker (O-51)  on  31 Jan 1968, when an overwhelming enemy force attacked Tan Son Nhut AB. Four of the five sergeants were killed in action. Their heroic defense and combat actions delaying Viet Cong and North Vietnamese soliders played the key role in allowing USAF and Army forces to gather in sufficient strength to defeat the enemy. Heroic, is too small a word to describe their valor, which no doubt saved many lives that day.  Don Poss

Thank you for posting the photos of Butch on the Findagrave.com website. Our family truly appreciates those photos as we have very few.  Also, THANK YOU for your service to our country.

This is how my connection to Butch is: My name is Rozie Waldron and my husband is Guy Kirby Waldron. Roger was his cousin. Kirby's Mother, Celestine Mills-Waldron, was Roger's Aunt and she was the sister to Roger Mack Mills who was his father.

Would you mind if I used your photos for ancestry purposes? I would share them with family and on my family tree on ancestry.com. Although not a blood relative to the Mills, I have become their family historian and collector of stories & photos. If you have any photos you would care to share about Butch, I'd love to have them. My husband and I are also Veterans having served in the US Navy, and I've done a lot of research on the men and women of our families that have served in the military in hopes of ensuring that they are each honored.

If you have the photos scanned would you mind emailing them to me at waldron.rm@gmail.com (this is the email I use solely for ancestry purposes).

Thank you again for the volunteer work you've done with Findagrave.com, for posting the photos of Butch and for considering my request.

Have a blessed day!

Rozie Waldron
