VSPA Passing -- Lew, 17: 44: 03 04/27/02 Sat
We just lost another brother who passed away after a long battle with cancer. Robert Merrell, Phan Rang 66. I only knew Bob for 3 days during the last reunion in Va, less then 12 hours of talks and I can get over how much I loved that guy. I am not a very religious person, never was and probably will never be, but, I think if the day ever comes if we can reach the gates he qualifies to check us in. We lost a great cop, great friend and even a better family man. RIP Bob....

I also met Bob last year at the reunion. Bob myself and Brian Thorne were going to go golfing at Langley AFB. That Saturday afternoon but the rains came. All afternoon Bob kept saying lets go the rain will quiet. Wish we would have gone now. Bob was a true Brother. He will be missed by all. Bob will see you on that Big 19th hole. Welcome Home Brother.
