My old-old box of slides never turned up--my sister found it. I have tried to attach a sequence of Fess Parker outside the chow hall at Biên Hòa. I have some more that may be of general interest, and some others that are more particular to Red Horse. I am also a member of The Red Horse Association now. Bob

1. Biên Hòa Air Base: An old French bunker right across the street from the Red Horse cantonement area. I never saw it manned, but I heard that the 823rd CES started sending people over there when the alert status went up to deny it to the enemy. |

2. The French bunker seems a modern emplacement, but I have no idea who manned it. It had that lived in look, somaybe it was ARVN. I would guess it was somewhere in the neighborhood of the main gate. |

3. Biên Hòa Air Base: Runway bunker. I believe I caught an F-100 taking off over on the extreme left-center of the frame. On magnification it appears that the F-100 in this photo has wheels down and canopy up and people walking around it. I think that means they are working on it, though I have no idea why ther're are doing so on the West end of the taxiway. |
