1) Above photo was taken around
May 1966 while I was on Beach Patrol in Phan Rang.
Gary Adams was taking this photo. Back then, it was a 2-man 24 hour
post. As I recall,
we were about 12 miles from AP Headquarters and didn't know that our
radio's wouldn't
reach them at times!
2) We used to hump up that draw to get to
the OP before night. What a haul
with all that gear. This was taken April or May of 1966. As I recall
a road was made
when the MARS site was built there. Then we could drive up instead
of humping.
