Check out HH-43 Pedro Flight Photos.

Note-1: That reverse-shaped "D" shaped area on the ground, just to the right of the tower, is the officers' skeet range--tough duty in the daytime hours.

Note-2: This is the same Pedro and crew who picked up Navy Lieutenant Commander Robert N. Castle Jr. on 28 Dec 1970 (the very day I arrived at NKP).  The Commander's A-7E, flying off the USS Ranger, had been shot down in Laos 17 miles east of my new home. Apparently all the Jolly Green Giants were busy or down at the time, and the Pedro was the one they could get to the scene the fastest.
