1) Inside the 366th SPS, Tiger Flight, hut, and my cube. Just before reporting to duty. My helmet has my girl's name on it. Writing on helmets was, of course, a very common thing to do. Mostly, hometowns, and that ever present chicken-foot print.

2) The other side of my helmet had a listing of the Rocket attacks I went through. Đà Nàng was known as "Rocket City". If you look real close at the first one and you can see a red star... that was the closest one for me.

3) Some of the 366th SPS Tiger Flight guys.

Top, Left to Right: Morris, Turner (me), Brunzel
Bottom, Left to Right: Baker and Staples.

4) Just before reporting for
duty, I might cook up
some C-Rats.

5) I am standing outside the hut.
Sign: "366th SPS Tiger Flight Hut".

6) Turner sitting on top of a small revetment wall designed to contain flying shrapnel from mortars or rockets.

7) Dirt village on Perimeter Road, and across from 366th SPS huts.

8) My boss, TSgt Albrecht. Grilling some
steaks was a guaranteed smile!

9) China Beach: Photo taken Easter morning, Sunday, April 14th 1968, around 0800 hours. In the background, Mike is sitting at the table and Hartmen is standing against a tree trunk. Hartmark and myself are sitting in the sand. Both of us are half shot down... notice the cup in my hand. The beer is hidden (guarded) between us... to protect from the predators.

Steve Turner was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, with V Device.
