In addition to the suffix "A" for K-9, there is also the Prefix "T" for Trainer. for example, I was a T81170A.AFSC is still 811X0 the SEI's were adapted for SPECS-Security Police Elements for Contingencies. As I just read in TigerFlight, prior to SEI's, commanders didn't know that they had specially trained troops available. I think that to know how they were used, you'd have to check with CPBO?Eddie Murray----------------I called a former coworker, Craig Harvey, former SSGT USAF Security Police, at the Heavy Weapons School after I drew a blank. He told me the Special Experience Identifiers (SEI's) are:
390 for 81mm Mortar
391 for .50 Caliber Machinegun
392 for 90mm Recoilless Rifle.Like me he was awarded those SEI's. There may be other SEI's. I was also an alarm monitor with something called SPCD's (Small Permanent Communications Display Systems). Not sure if there was SEI with it. There was also a program where cops were tasked with rapid deployment. It was called SPECS (Security Police Elements for Contingencies), that also may have had an SEI associated with it.Eddie Murray

In the early 50's the then Air Police still carried the old army mos 961. RRingram. ---------I read where one 50's AP was commenting on MOS/AFSC: I enlisted in Feb 1950 and was interviewed and selected with couple of dozen personnel straight out of Basic Training to the newly formed 1025th AP Sq, (HQCMD) Washington National Airport, Gravelly Point, VA. Sent to TMPS, Class 148, later PMGS/MPRTC, Camp Gordon, 5 Sep-13 Oct 1950. Was awarded MOS 677SSK ( Semi-skilled), later the AF changed to AFSCs 961X0 in early 1951. Most of this info is reflected on my DA AGO Form 20, Soldier's Qualification Card. It took years for the AF to change from the Army ways.Hi Don, I served during the Korean War in DC and was assigned to the Presidential Guard from 1953 to 1956. During 1962/63, was assigned to 6146th AFAG on P-Y-Do, a 7X3 island 7,000 yds off North Korea. I was the only AP ( High Sheriff) and formed the first all civilian Korean Security Section and was advisor to the ROKAF APs, 307th AC&W. There were just 25 of us Americans out there. A very interesting 13 months, but I did get off once for a couple of days. We didn't have many visitors. Had to land on the beach when the tide was down. We put up a sign that read, "This runway resurfaced twice a day, compliments of Det 16, 6146th AFAG." All these things brings back a flood of memories.
