I know that the VSPA is for Vietnam and Thailand. But on the bottom of the page there are other Security Police that lost their lives on other bases are mentioned also. I think when I looked at this I thought I saw it on VSPA maybe I saw it on AFSFA which I am a member also. My mind isn't that good any more. I guess that is a part of PTSD. TLC Have a great day!

Robert: Thanks for the offer. The focus of VSPA's page is exclusively concerning bases and squadrons in Vietnam/Thailand during the war years.  I do not know if a web page exists yet for Turkey.   Don Poss

The reason I told you of this things is because I found Herrington William Sgt on the bottom page of other KIA on other bases. The one I told you about was in DET-193-1 SPS Adana, Turkey roughly seven years later in  the service . It took me ten years to smarten up and get out . The main reason is if you need pictures of that instolition I have them and would be glad to share same. Thanks----Original Message-----

Hi Robert: Was DET-193-1 SPS in Vietnam/Thailand? You may know that VSPA just added a Bases & Squadrons page for Det SPS units.  The world is certainly different outside the US. My brother Ray was a civilian helicopter instructor in the Gulf when the Gulf War took place in 1991. Much the same type stories for that hell hole too.   Don Poss

I was stationed at Incerlik Ab Turkey for two and a half years left there 3Oct 79. I sponsored a lot of new Security Police and their families Can you find out if Sgt Harrington William KIA Nov 15,1980 was there in Sept of 79. I have pictures of the front of the Security police Le Desk as well as other pictures of the base also. I also was almost executed by a Turkish troop and my life was saved by the Ambassador to the Netherlands Lee VanHuen who was stationed in Adana also as the consulate for the Netherlands. Turkey is a pretty rough country. It was real bad back in the seventies. From what I understand it is much better now. I was there when three thousand leftist were beheaded in the Adana stadium as well as the American consult blown up next door to our home down town Adana ,Turkey. I could go on for days on what I saw over there. The Turks punished the Americans when the book Midnight Express came out.  From the desk of Robert E.
